3rd grade students, Heroes Elementary
The Artsy Smartsy project provided Megan Githens’ 3rd grade students at Heroes with the art materials to use in opportunities to express their learning through different art mediums. In the third grade California Visual Art Standards, students learn to respond and make connections to the visual arts in past and present cultures throughout the world, noting human diversity. They also learn to create meaning (feelings and opinions) in their own original works of art. At the end of the year, a walking gallery was created so that parents could see all the artwork.
